KNOW US
This scientific research program is aimed at members of BioFuture Panama and affiliates (Students aspiring to Bachelor's degrees in environmental matters), understood and distributed as a unit made up of sub groups called Thematic Interest Groups (GIT's) that manage the development of scientific theories, with space-time continuity that relates its members to society according to an initial plan of our common objective (Scientific development focused on environmental problems, taking into account the communities surrounding scientific development as the main actor), this facilitates the approach theoretical and systematization; These qualities lead us to consider as a group that research is carried out according to the principle of networks of problems or scientific communities, for which we will manage under the concept of Research Programs (New Faces of Science), which will allow it to confer a collective organizational character. to investigative action, in addition to promoting interdependent action in the production of knowledge and generational change. From this perspective, a feasible organizational structure was designed (taking into account the current regulations of our country on access to genetic resources and biodiversity records), where the Programs constitute the Basic Unit of BioFuture Panama in Research, which may contribute to that the investigative activity be conceived in an integral way, where reflexive theory and praxis complement each other and in this way consolidate a short-term scientific culture within our organization, creating a snowball effect at a national level.
OBJECTIVES OF THE NCC PROGRAM
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Scientific development focused on environmental problems, taking into account the communities surrounding scientific development as the main actor.
Establish a research program within the Nature Reserve.
Conserve natural habitats ensuring the permanence of biological diversity.
Maintain biological diversity in Nature Reserves, expressed in terms of voluntary conservation of habitats, protection and recovery of fauna and flora species.
Create mechanisms for environmental entrepreneurship in the Zone in order to achieve social integration.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Study the Biodiversity of the Natural Reserve to establish conservation plans in the short, medium and long term.
Recover degraded natural habitats, restoring essential ecological processes.
Encourage BFP members and applicants for environmental bachelor's degrees to scientific development and entrepreneurship
Adopt measures for the "ex situ" conservation of the components of biological diversity, in particular of genetic resources.
